My travels in 2021 have taken me to South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado and Tennessee! A year in "lockdown" was more than enough for me, and I reveled in the chance to get back on the road and explore new areas with my camera!
Click on the individual images in the strips below to see larger display of the photographs from that location. And thanks for going along with my on my journeys!
Grand Teton National Park

My first autumn trip was to Jackson, WY for a week in the Tetons. This was my first visit and due to the smoke from the fires in California, it didn't live up to my expectations. I came away with a few shots that I liked but those magical reflections of the soaring mountains evaded my lens. Darn. I'll have to go back!

Ouray,Colorado
The last week of September near Ouray, CO is almost beyond description. The aspens are glowing yellow, the sage brush becomes a riotous mosaic of color and if the universe blesses your adventure, you get some snow on the mountains.
Great Smoky Mountains
Autumn in the Smoky Mountains is one of my long standing traditions that has survived difficult work schedules, hard to find accommodations and even Covid! I rented a cabin and socially distanced in 2020 to keep the tradition alive!
This year was a riotous display of color, with perfect water levels and good photography weather. I vowed to stay longer next year, one week just isn't enough!
